Basic Knots/Tarp Shelter Setup Feb. 28 @ 6:30pm
In this class we will be covering basic wilderness knots, lashings, tarp ridgelines, and emergency tarp shelter setups. Most people do not carry a tent on a day hike because they might be considered too cumbersome. You should absolutely carry some form of a tarp should you get lost or have an emergency situation. Ever been caught in an Adirondack rainstorm with no cover in sight? A tarp shelter is quick and easy to setup should you encounter any of those scenarios. Once you sleep under a tarp shelter you may never use a tent again. Get the same benefit of a true wilderness experience that you gain from a Lean To in a much more lightweight and portable form. You will leave with a completed 25Ft Ridgeline to include in your pack for easy tarp setup.
